Thena is inspired by the Greek temple, which is dedicated to a god or goddess whose statue occupies its center. These are rectangular buildings oriented west-east: entrance to the east, to the rising sun (day = life). The divinity must not see the setting sun, because night symbolizes death. Most of the time, the rites take place outside the temple and it is forbidden to enter. These rites are intended to protect, to bring luck. The building is only open on rare occasions. Some temples are exceptions because of their particular function: such as the temple of Apollo at Delphi, where people came to consult the Pythia to receive her oracles.
